CocoonU has belief’s that are unheard of in today manufacturing world! It’s like going back in time – believing in people and their skills. It’s rare combination in today’s fierce market. CocoonU firmly believe these values are returning why? Because customers want good value for money – but at who’s cost? Not the country or the person who makes each garment or product? CocoonU only work with ethical beliefs and each collection has a fascinating journey.
Within just two years CocoonU has established a strong partnership with a factory in Outer Mongolia – Blue Sky Cashmere that are state of the arch in manufacturing cashmere and can deliver the highest quality products – including mixes of silk and organic cotton.
The relationship enables CocoonU to have a bespoke range and offer bespoke collections – designs to the clear conscious luxury market.
When i first met Vanessa nearly three years ago at the beginning of her adventure i felt that this would develop into a very special relationship. I was getting personally concerned that cashmere was becoming just a commodity and losing its identity as a luxury fibre.
It was being brought down by Chinese manufacturers using dubious working practices who were supplying the western brands with poor quality and often adulterated garments at low prices.
The cashmere industry needed a champion and a feel good story. Nothing was really happening in the industry as everyone’s concerns were related to price at what ever cost.
What i admired about Vanessa when i met her was her determination not to compromise her overriding principles to bring integrity and morality into the manufacture of the products. We had built our factory in Mongolia to aspire to the same set of guiding principles and are happy that we have now reached the point where we are combining our philosophies and offering the consumer top quality cashmere products made in a land where the goats feed off uncontaminated natural pasture land and the herdsmen dedicate themselves to the care of their animals.
